“The first time I put my hand on a smartphone, I realized that the least use I was going to do with it it was making phone calls. I provided myself with a smartphone intrigued by the use I could have done in the field of art and music experimenting with the huge numbers of applications. As soon as I downloaded the right application for drawing which suited the kind of graphic style I was aiming for I was amazed neither by the colours nor the shapes and lines I could draw but by the rapidity which I could share my smartphone creations on social networks with. Once the drawing was like I wished, I could share it with a waste public online. Most of the drawing of the collection “The Idiots” are made while I am in public places (buses, trains, bars, parks, art galleries, museums, etcetera) catching people behaviours when they turn into either bizzarre or absurd according to my sensibility. I could make a live chronicle of what I was living and studying/observing in a space time of maximum 15 minutes and share it with others. The time matter was what really got me into sketching on smartphone and since the first drawing I never stopped.” Dom Barra
